I thought this might be a lovely image for our Thanksgiving holiday today. I hope we can all take a moment to reflect on all the things for which we should be grateful. And give thanks. Actually, this is something we should do everyday!

We can’t go back and change the past, but, going forward, we can certainly reach out to those in need, fight for those whom the system has failed, and pray for those simply lost in the hubbub, today.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Hauser ~ Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber

I think Samuel Barber’s Adagio expresses the sadness of the 20th century that we humans share. And I believed it was an unhelpful sadness that would never be purified. But Hauser’s performance purifies that sadness. It was a great surprise to me and deeply moved. Hauser sublimated his sorrow into a cleansed prayer. And I certainly saw the salvation of the soul beyond that sound. 感動して泣いたよ。ありがとう!
