Andrea Koerner ~ Say Hello To My Little Friend

Andrea Koerner ~ Say Hello To My Little Friend

Insect Haiku

Don’t worry, spiders,
I keep house
casually.

Climb Mount Fuji,
O snail,
but slowly, slowly.

Under my house
an inchworm
measuring the joists.

O flea! whatever you do,
don’t jump;
that way is the river.

I’m going out,
flies, so relax,
make love.

Boris The Spider (a Who cover) by The Best

I’ve never heard of The Best before tonight. I was going to put Ziggy Stardust for its reference to spiders (“So where were the spiders, while the fly tried to break our balls/With just the beer light to guide us/So we bitched about his fans and should we crush his sweet hands”) but then I remember Boris and discovered this video, wherein they play the Who cover. John Entwistle sang the original version on the Who album, “A Quick One.”

Not sure The Best played anywhere besides Japan. I assume it was a good payday.

Keith Emerson: keyboards (Note the “Monster Moog”, which Keith has always patched to be basically a Mini-Moog, that is to say, two voltage controlled oscillators patched into one voltage-controlled filter. It looks daunting, but, really, friends, child’s play.
Simon Phillips: drums
Jeff Baxter: guitar
Joe Walsh:guitar (I always liked Joe, glad he got sober. Never listened to much of his music, to tell the truth.)
John Entwistle: bass guitar and vocals on this song (How on EARTH did John Entwistle, bass player for one of the ballsiest groups ever, The Who, end up in a band with the biggest prog-rock douche of all time, Keith Emerson?)
Rick Livingstone: vocal
