This should be on a billboard. Really great job Rad
Fiona, Thank you very much.
Congrats Rad on an exquisite job of portraying a phenomenally tragic problem confronting our country – homelessness! The, I guess, formerly wealthiest country in the world should not have a single person living under such conditions. Your image is a tribute to the cause and to, hopefully, some means to right this terrible wrong! CONGRATS on the Daily Pic!!!
Thanks, Rudy. What kills me about this scene is that the guy still proudly displays the flag, in spite of the betrayal.
Congrats on POD, so well deserved and so well done. Like it here too!
Hi, Shirley. Thank you! And yes, I like it here too! So much good stuff, so much to learn.
Poignant was the first word that came to my mind too! Great work!
Janine, thank you for your comment. I really appreciate the support! -Rad
Knox, thank you very much. This is an Autostitched image. I took six shots from a tripod using BracketMode, which makes one dark and one light image for each shot. I then put those 12 images into AutoStitch, which not only blends the color for HDR, but also stitches all the images together. I felt the image was more powerful in b&w, so I used Dramatic B&W for that. I wanted the flag to really pop, so I used Double Exposure in FilterStorm to paint the color back here. Then I did some selective sharpening in FStorm to further accentuate the flag and “nest.”
Thanks again for your interest in my work. Ive really enjoyed Pixels and have learned a tremendous amount being part of this community. Rad
I don’t usually chime in on comments, but this picture really caught my eye. And I usually do not like “spot color” images … but it works perfectly here. Really well done. Is it a panorama shot or autostitch, Rad?
Great final treatment Rad. Poignant.
Sean, thank you. It was a journey to arrive here. I incorporated the feedback from others who critiqued earlier versions. Learned a lot on this one!
