James Clarke ~ A Crack In Time

Strange Metal. Great composition and color.

This picture reminded me of a West German band called Einstürzende Neubauten (Collapsing New Buildings). In their early days, they would seek out junkyards in the cities they played, hauling pieces of junk and scrap metal which they would incorporate into their sets as percussive or sonic components. I remember hearing a recording that sounded like they were holding a chainsaw to a huge piece of sheet metal and the singer sounded like he was dying in great pain. It was, as I remember it, a strangely beautiful piece of music. That’s the one I was looking for. Probably a good thing I couldn’t find it. For your sake, anyway.

This has a bit of a metallic overtone, but is pretty, and strange, but not too strange.
