NYC Hudson Waterfront ~ Paul Toussaint

This picture reminds me of an interview with playwright Tennessee Williams I once read. The issue of his sexuality came up in some regard. He said,”Let’s just say I cover the waterfront.”

This is a beautiful aerial shot. The decayed piers. The rippling blue and green waters of the Hudson. The speedboat arcing across the water in the distance. Cars on the thoroughfare. A sunny day in New York City.

Williams also said, apropos of what I am not certain:

“Oh, you weak, beautiful people who give up with such grace. What you need is someone to take hold of you – gently, with love, and hand your life back to you.”
