The story behind it is I was doing an iPhone specific shoot with this model, primarily an experiment with the iPhone 4 and Hipstamatic – indoor and outdoor shots. I also took a number of raw iPhone camera shots both in normal and HDR mode as well as a few other apps.
This version of the image has actually come out a little over-sharpened.
The shot is the a iPhone HDR shot and if you look closely you can see the two images out of alignment and the HDR process probably adds to the oversharp look. Although I did have a tripod with me I this was a hand held shot, hence the unsteady shot.
The image is of course originally colour.
This one was converted to B&W in PictureShow but that is the only additional tweaking.
Natural light only was used – I prefer to use natural light with the iPhone as carrying extra lights etc somewhat negates the portability of the iPhone process.
One thing I particularly like about this shot are the goosebumps on her skin which are captured in great detail. Somewhat ruined here by the over-sharpening of the HDR pic.
Thanks for the nice comments.

However I do have a non-HDR version which I think gives a better result (this version edited with a touch of TiltShift):

Since I did this shot I have been concentrating on rawer iPhone shots, mainly using ProHDR and then post-apping accordingly.
I did however get some amazing Hipstamatic shots form this shoot – I was trying to push it further than than normal with some good success.
Overall the iPhone photography process seems to be a continual exploration of techniques and results which is very satisfying.
In a two words, 'simply lovely'!
beautiful exploration of chiaroscuro and feminine form
