This is one of my favorite pictures, that I made, that is. Thought I would resurrect it here. We were shooting at the tacky apartment building where I used to live, in Oakland. There was another photographer there, invited by the the model, Charisma Lane. He suggested doing some shooting outside. I thought it was a dumb idea, but I trailed along & just snapped pictures. Later, I took a look at this one & thought it might have some promise. I was shooting in bad light on an old iPhone and I worked on this picture for two days straight. It was worth it.
That’s the thing about early iPhone photography – we were fighting against such limitations.
And, for the record, the girl on the scooter was 22 years old!
One thing I’m proud of is that this picture has been censored twice from exhibits. I must be doing something right.
