We are bringing the best of the work from the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art to the Bay Area, as previously announced, but to a much better venue: The venerable and lovely Giorgi Gallery in Berkeley. You can find the Giorgi at the foot of the Berkeley hills in the lovely Claremont district. The address is 2911 Claremont Avenue, just past Ashby going uphill. On the right.
This is the show that we did at the OCCCA in April and then moved to the Arty Gallery in Los Angeles. We are culling the cream—the Giorgi is a much smaller space, but wonderful—from that show and adding some new works from recent newcomers to P1xels.
The Opening Night Celebration is Saturday, September 24, at 6 p.m. Hope to see you there!
It is particularly wonderful to be doing this show at the Giorgi, since, as many of you know, it is where we did the first-ever iphoneographic juried gallery show in the world early last year. What an adventure it has been!
A note about the curation for the Giorgi: It is a much smaller space, so we are going to have to “salon” the pictures. Even so, many must be eliminated. Safe to say all non-P1xels’ regular contributors will go. We will have to see what we can fit on the walls. I have to drive down to LA to get the prints. Naturally, we will keep in as many as we can and I want as many artists represented as possible, as always. Hopefully I can get down to LA in a couple weeks and begin the process. When we have a list, I will of course let you all know.
