[votd] The Disappearance of Oscar Zeta Acosta (Dr Gonzo)

A friend of mine married Oscar Zeta Acosta’s nephew. She never met Oscar: he had disappeared many years before. She did, however, meet Acosta’s parents, her husband-to-be’s grandparents. When they arrived at the tiny East LA house, the grandfather greeted them at the front door and demanded that they bring him two cases of Miller High Life beer. They got back in the car and went to a local liquor store. Upon returning, they handed him the two cases. Grandpa thanked them and put them in a spare bedroom, where there was already a wall covered with cases of Miller High Life beer stacked high.

So things were off to a good start.
