This clip, entitled”Chixels,” was a play on words. It was a reference to a website once run by Knox Bronson called Pixels at an Exhibition. On it were images shot and created exclusively by smartphones.
This was 2010 at the onset of the whole iPhoneography phenom..
A woman named Jen Bianco and I curated this collection of images shot by these female artists with the idea of creating a venue featuring just women making art with their phones. It never got off the ground, unfortunately.
But I just stumbled upon this clip today, going through an old YouTube channel of mine.
WOW!
15 years later, I find myself still so impressed with the talent here! I wonder where all these women are today on their journey as artists? Maybe they’ll come back onto my radar!
Hope so as I’d love to know they’re all alive and thriving!
