About the new PIXELS website

My favorite website, besides PIXELS, is biblioklept.org. It’s always been an inspiration as I have curated and posted articles and art and videos far and wide on this site.

It is my hope we can expand PIXELS into something beyond just iPhonic art. The reality is, our Summer of Love, if you will ended many years ago, under the onslaught of Instagram and Facebook. All the great old apps disappearing from the early days didn’t help either. Maia Panos still tells me she has no idea how to make in picture now, like she used to, anyway.

I invite you to share other things besides iPhone pictures. The upload form is fairly self-explanatory. There is only one category for iPhonic Art. I recommend using hashtags for narrowing the search, i.e., homelife, countrylife, etc. Also, put in your name, first, last, it doesn’t matter. You do not need to use the # symbol. You can see my hashtags for this post as an example. I did use the # symbol, but this was before I realized it was not necessary.

I was speaking to Damian, who said he had some 35mm and Polaroid shots he wanted to share. We decided that they should go in the “Art” category and then use hashtags 35mm or polaroid as needed. I am putting this in Errata category, for odds and ends and hashtagging it “article.”

I’m writing this on my computer. If you are using your phone or iPad, a picture is required, but not on computer.

I’m sure things will change and evolve as we go along here. I appreciate your involvement.

And one last thing: PLEASE FEEL FREE TO UPLOAD ANY OR ALL OF YOUR OLD IMAGES THAT WERE ON THE OLD SITE! We may be starting over, but your great art is timeless.

Here’s a video about hashtags:
