June 2, 2025, will be the last day of PIXELS.

No one is sending pictures with any regularity anymore. Even I am not making pictures like I used to. I’m focused on other things, these days. I assume all the regulars are in the same boat.

Since relaunching the site in this new incarnation, I’ve invited people to contribute in other ways, i.e., their non-iPhone photography, or to post curated images from elsewhere, or to share recipes or videos, but that aspect of what I hoped would be a “new” PIXELS site never gelled or coalesced. I am aware of people posting their on IG or FB, but not sharing here. Strangely, it doesn’t bother me like it once did (oh how my abandonment issues would kick in!), but it is an indicator of interest or lack thereof in the site.

In my last request for financial support, only one person contributed. Thank you, Damian. I’m not trying to guilt-trip anybody: I’m just sharing the facts.

I find myself posting videos and my old pictures and old pictures from other people from way back when. Believe me, I still love the work, but what’s the point of PIXELS now?

I am truly grateful for all the support and the artistic contributions from all you regular contributors of the past. Your involvement has kept me going. I am eternally grateful for your participation in PIXELS over the years, through all the changes.

It is 5,657 days since I launched PIXELS, fifteen-and-a-half years.

It has been a great ride, despite my many fuckups, thanks to all the great artists who shared their wonderful work here.
