Hans Borghorst—Death of the One-Legged Traveler

This picture was one of the [best] 100 images section of the book, PIXELS AT AN EXHIBITION. I cannot look at this picture without wondering about the story behind it. Perplexing, maddening, and, dare I say it, somewhat comical. I’ve never asked Hans about it, directly. Perhaps I will.
