[votd] The First Pixels at an Exhibition Show at the Giorgi Gallery, A Slide Show

In early 2010, gallery owner Rae Russell and I produced the first ever gallery show for the nascent art of iPhone photography, aka iphoneography, at the Giorgi Gallery in Berkeley, CA. We decided a promo video was needed so I made this (note the 4×3 aspect ratio—iMovie doesn’t support that format anymore, only 16×9) and used the piece I had written for Maia, Maia Dream 817: Koi Flashing, for her birthday as the soundtrack.

I haven’t heard this piece in years. I had forgotten how good it was! Since 2019, it has garnered 39 views! I originally posted it in 2010. I must have taken it down and then put it back up.

I love looking at those early pictures from our first show!

Image I chose for display was “Bloons” by Kristin Stuthard. She lived in Lodi. She was really young, but she drove to Berkeley for the opening.

Enjoy.
